About Us

Founder & Company Director - Rosie Ward

UpFront Theatre Company was founded by Rosie Ward in 2014.

Rosie is a professional actor, workshop facillitor, drama teacher & childcare provider. As well as running UpFront Theatre Company, she runs a performing arts school and an outdoor Shakespeare company.

Qualifications

BA (Hons) Degree in Acting from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts

NFCE Cache Level 2 Certificate of the Children and Young People's Workforce (England)

Rosie has worked extensively in educational theatre. Aside from UpFront, companies include the highly respected Young Shakespeare Company, Vital Stages and Redbridge Drama Centre in association with Redbridge Council. She believes passionately in the use of drama & forum theatre to inform young people about sensitive issues, not least as a way to educate, but to encourage empathy and pro-active participation.

UpFront Actors

UpFront's workshops are facilliated by 3 professionally trained actors.

Our products centre around the communication and acting skills of our fantastic actors - who also work professionally in the industry across theatre, TV, film, presenting and educational theatre. They have undergone vocational training (either at drama school, university or via extensive experience within the industry) and receive specific training to facillitate UpFront Theatre Company's range of workshops. They are highly skilled in improvisation and thinking on their feet; so whatever year group they are working with, or space they are performing in; whatever tricky questions are thrown at them or timings unexpectedly change; they will be able to adapt the material accordingly and provide a high quality and memorable session.

UpFront Theatre Company actors are fully insured and hold a recent DBS Certificate.

We use a rolling team of actors, which allows us to offer maximum availability to schools.
